Francesca Hamer from St Neots has started the Bob Docherty Tournament with the England under-15 Schoolgirls by securing sponsorship for the 2022/23 season.

With sponsorship secured, Francesca and her teammates opened the football Tournament on April 2 with a convincing 5-0 win over Northern Ireland at Parklea playing fields in Glasgow.

The marketing agency, Ideas and Visions, agreed to sponsor and support Francesca for the upcoming season as part of the English Schools' Football Association's player sponsor scheme.

"On the pitch, we are confident Francesca will deliver the ideas and the visions for her England teammates to succeed."

Francesca, who is on the books of Tottenham Hotspur Under-15s, was selected for the England Schoolgirls squad back in January after a rigorous three-month trial process.

The England schoolgirls beat the Republic of Ireland on penalties following a 1-1 draw on April 4, and next up for the under-15s is a match versus Scotland today (April 6) in a winner-takes-all clash for the trophy.
