Anglers from St Ives Tackle have been squeezing in as much fishing as they can as the river season draws to an end from March 14.

Mickey and Adam Bartlett managed to fit three fishing sessions into one week by going for a few hours each day after work.

And armed with some luncheon meat, they headed down the River Great Ouse in St Ives.

Here, they spent 15 minutes in each swim, managing to land a Chub or two every time they went.

Mickey landed his biggest catch of 3lb 12oz while Adam’s was 2lb 15oz.

St Ives Tackle said the local river is worth a visit for Chub before the end of the season.

Last month, more Chub was reported to have been caught, including by angler Paul Webb who landed a Chub of 7lb 5oz on the River Great Ouse.
