Anglers from St Ives Tackle have again braved freezing conditions to try and fish for chub, a member of the carp family.

Adam and Mickey Bartlett of St Ives Tackle ventured out to the Dolphin Meadow section of the River Great Ouse to have a go for the chub.

Another extremely cold spell of weather has seen most lakes and Fenland drains frozen over, leaving only the river for anglers to fish.

One of the only species willing to feed in such low temps is the chub, and St Ives Tackle has had several reports of anglers catching some from the River Great Ouse to more than 3lb.

Armed with some cheese paste and lobworms, and after several moves trying new swims, Adam managed a lovely-looking chub of 2lb 6oz, which was "worth the cold hands and feet".
