Cambridge Street in St Neots will be closed on Sunday, March 10 from 8am to 5pm.

The closure includes the junctions of Sandfields Road and Cambridge Gardens.

Why is the road closed?

Cambridge Street will be closed while Cambridgeshire Highways carry out a Micro Asphalt Carriageway Surface Treatment.

What to expect

The roadworks are only expected to last day, so while Cambridgeshire Highways carry out the works, the road will be closed from 8am to 5pm, and vehicle access will be restricted.

There will be a diversion route which will be signposted for any traffic that is trying to use the road.

The roadworks are also dependent on dry weather conditions, and if the weather means that work cannot be carried out on March 10, the contractor has set aside Sunday, March 17 as a back-up date for the roadworks.

Will I be able to park my car on Cambridge Street?

In order for the contractor to complete the work with minimum disruption, it is "essential" that no vehicles are parked on the road.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Highways said: "If you have particular access requirements, please speak to a member of the crew onsite who will be able to assist."

Access to properties in the closure area of Cambridge Street will be possible, but are subject to working conditions and delays are to be expected.

Will there be future roadworks?

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Highways said: "Further works to adjust any Ironwork Covers and replace any road markings will be programmed for later dates, as they cannot be carried out at the same time as the main process."
