Couples from Montague House Care Home in Brampton decided to give their advice to young lovers celebrating Valentine's Day this week.

According to seasoned romantics at Montague House Care Home on North Road, love endures when you spend quality time with your other half.

Resident Richard Bonny, who has been married to his wife Val for 30 years, and said that their relationship has grown stronger because they share so much.

Richard, aged 75, said: "It's all about spending time with each other and sharing hobbies and interests, but also having your own space.

"We always shared breakfast before work and had plenty of family time. The other important thing is to laugh together always!"

Val added: "Also, let your partner have lots of pets!"

Fellow resident Phylis Howard, aged 93, also gave her love advice.

She said that spending as much time together as possible is vital.

Phylis, who was married to her late husband Alfred for 64 years, added: "You also should let them follow their dreams.

"Always be around for your loved one and be faithful to each other."
