Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service have worked through the night to tackle a fire at Alconbury Waste and Recycling Centre, believed to have been caused by a battery.

Crews were called to the building fire on the B1043 near Monks Wood at 6.49pm on March 27.

The centre is managed by waste company Amey, under contract to Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC), and contains around 40 tonnes of recycling and household waste.
