A major fire has broken out in Eaton Socon this morning.
The fire is reported to have taken place at an industrial unit on Howard Road.
Firefighters from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service [CFRS] were called at 5.40am today (Friday) to a building fire in the area and are still in attendance.
"At 5.40am, crews were called to a building fire on Howard Road, Eaton Socon," a spokesperson for CFRS said.
"Crews arrived to find a fire at a building on the industrial estate.
"Crews from St Neots, Cambourne, Huntingdon, Kimbolton, Chatteris, Sawston, Cambridge, along with multiple crews from Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance.
"Specialist appliances including the incident support unit, incident command unit and two aerial appliances are also at the scene."
CFRS are advising those who live or work in the surrounding area to the fire to stay indoors and keep windows and doors closed.
The CFRS spokesperson added: "Crews are likely to be in attendance for a few more hours.
"We’d ask that people avoid the area."
