Churches, community groups and a Conservative club have been recently listed as additional venues which will be opening their doors as ‘Warm Hubs’ this winter.

As the cost of living continues to rise for households, some locations are even offering free food and refreshments for anyone struggling to make ends meet.

Huntingdon Methodist Church, in High Street, is now open every Friday between 12noon and 5:30pm until the end of February.

Free hot soup with rolls and light refreshments will be served. There will also be table games, newspapers, magazines and other activities available.

Families with children are also welcome to pop in after school.

On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays the church hosts an open door and craft group between 10am and 12noon.

Also in Huntingdon, All Saints Church, in Market Square, hosts its ‘Chatty Café' every Wednesday and Saturday between 11am and 1:30pm. Donations only.

St Neots Conservative Club, in New Street, is offering its space as a ‘Warm Hub’ on the first Wednesday of the month between 11am-3pm.

It will also open at the same time on the first Saturday of every month, with an optional bingo session which visitors can pay to join from 12noon.

Godmanchester Baptist Church and Ramsey Neighbourhoods Trust have also arranged community get-togethers.

A full list of Huntingdonshire venues opening as ‘Warm Spaces’ or ‘Warm Hubs’ is available on The Hunts Post and Huntingdonshire District Council websites.
