ONE thing’s for sure there’s definitely no shortage of laughs in 2013 as yet more comedy giants continue to grace the region’s stage.

This time it’s the turn of Komedia-regular Zoe Lyons who arrives in Peterborough next week as part of her Pop Up Comic tour.

The 41-year-old comedian, best known for her observational comedy, won the Funny Woman stand-up comedy award in 2004 and went on to tour the UK circuit with regular gigs in London and Brighton.

Counting Jo Brand and Andi Osho as her influences, Pop Up Comic is an energy-packed combination of the silly, physical and satirical.

Lyons has taken a long, hard look at the issues of the day, binned them and instead focused her attention on things that really matter…one-footed pigeons and motion-sensitive air-fresheners to name a few.

This is her fifth solo tour, the last one being the internationally acclaimed Cloudbusting in 2011.

Other shows include Miss Machismo in 2010 and the 2008 Mangled Mantra of the Mixed-Up Modern Mind for which she won the Funniest Joke of the Fringe award.

A regular on BBC’s Mock the Week, Channel 5’s The Wright Stuff and Radio 4 comedy this funny woman is one you definitely don’t want to miss.

INFORMATION: Zoe Lyons plays at the Key Theatre Studio, Peterborough on February 21 at 8pm. Tickets available by calling 01733 207239.
