Since forming in 2004, the band has seen huge success, playing on the Warped Tour in America, touring with Paramore in 2009, appearing on Radio 1 Live Lounge, and hitting the number one spot with their last album, Cavalier Youth. Now, the group is set to release their latest record Night People with fans told to expect a bigger and boulder sound. Max Helyer, rhythm guitarist, told The Hunts Post: I think what sets it apart from all the other records we have made so far is that its probably the shortest record we have made but feels like a real journey from start to finish. My favourite track on the new record is probably a song called Spell It Out. We wrote it with intention of it making a film soundtrack and it took us on a new journey of writing music which was exciting. Its also a very dark sounding song for us which might surprise people. The new video for their single Night People is also a step in another direction, with the shots focused solely on the band. As we have been away for a while we wanted the focus to be on the band, we have visually changed looks-wise and felt that it was important to notice. With up to 50 tracks originally on the table, Max says this record has taken the longest to create, but that communication in the group is keen to getting the best out of their work. We have five people in our band so we have to make sure everyones voice is heard. We spoke about musical direction on this album to try and not recreate the same thing we have always done in the past. We try and compromise as much as we can, but when it comes down to it, we normally have an overall majority vote that we move forward with. I would say we have survived this long because we try and make everything fair and equal, if it isnt then its always hard to work things out. We also have a good communication in our band and that always helps when trying to work for the same goal. Tickets are on sale to see the band at the Cambridge Corn Exchange on October is 15, with their new album out on January 13. To book, go to cambridgelivetrust.co.uk.
