The Burgess Hall is set for a clash of the titans in a two-hour action-packed family extravaganza, which will see professional wrestlers battle it out for the Lloyd Ryan Trophy of Excellence.

Ryan, former manager of wrestling legend Kendo Nagasaki, will be there on the night to present the award, the winner of which will be decided by a four-man knockout tournament.

Wrestlers in action will include Zak Zodiac, the youngest son of legendary fighter ‘Rowdy’ Ricky Knight, and one of the most well known and popular stars in Herts and Essex wrestling.

The Hell’s Angel and The Masked Skeletor will also feature, as will British wrestling hero Phil Powers.

Essex-born Powers is legendary on the British independent wrestling circuit and has beaten World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) stars like Wade Barrett and Shamus.

As well as the main tournament, the audience can expect fireworks as stars from Live Wrestling Entertainment take on the team from The Best of British Wrestling in an all-action, super-charged tag team match.

Televised British wrestling may have declined in recent years, but the sport is still alive and kicking, with as many as 20 live shows a week throughout the country.
