THE breathtaking adaptation of Yan Martell’s best-selleing book, Life of Pi, is finally brought to the big screen by Oscar-winning director Ang Li.

This visually stunning movie charts a magical journey of adventure involving a young castaway and a Bengal tiger.

Piscine Patel, otherwise known as Pi, was raised in Ponicherry, India during the 1970s.

His rich and unusual upbringing took place in a zoo owned by his father – who taught him that animals don’t think like humans.

When India undergoes a dramatic upheaval the Patels decide to emigrate to Canada with 17-year-old Pi and some of their beasts.

But when a terrible storm causes their ship to sink Pi is cast adrift aboard a raft with his mortal enemy – a Bengal Tiger known as Richard Parker!

This Man Booker Prize-winning novel was a huge critical and commercial hit embedding itself firmly in the camp of one of the best-loved spiritual tales of the time.
