Red Lights
Cert 15
PARANORMAL investigators meet their match in this compelling psychological shocker.
Professional sceptic Margaret Matheson (Sigourney Weaver) considers that people who claim to have paranormal powers fall into two categories: poor deluded souls who genuinely imagine they have supernatural gifts - and outright charlatans who think they won’t get found out.
Together with her assistant, young physicist Tom Buckley (Cillian Murphy), she scours the nation to debunk hoaxers.
The key to their work is detecting red lights - tell-tale techniques used by con-artists to trick the gullible.
Then enigmatic blind psychic Simon Silver (Robert De Niro) reappears after a mysterious 30-year absence, presenting the duo with their greatest challenge.
Matters are complicated when Tom falls under Silver’s spell, causing his entire worldview to be challenged.
From writer/director Rodrigo Cortes, creator of the extraordinary film Buried, this intriguing thriller pulls the rug from under our feet at regular intervals.
It also features a towering performance by Robert De Niro.
The Hunts Post has three pairs of tickets to give away to see a film of your choice at Cineworld, Huntingdon.
To stand a chance of winning just tell us how many years Simon Silver has been absent for.
