Some of the most-loved moments from Tchaikovsky’s celebrated ballets will be staged at the Priory Centre, St Neots.

The Vienna Festival Ballet will perform a collection of highlights for its 35th Anniversary Gala on Wednesday, March 25.

It will include the scene when the Swan Queen meets her prince in Act Two of Swan Lake, the dance of the cygnets, Clara’s journey to a glittering land of snow in The Nutcracker, and the famous Rose Adagio from Sleeping Beauty where Princess Aurora is introduced to four princes.

These pieces have made up the group’s repertoire over the past 35 years, with productions including other traditional classics such as Snow White, Coppelia, Cinderella and La Sylphide. It also has new works which have been commissioned by young choreographers, such as Rhapsody in Blue, Bolero and American in Paris.

The company comprises international dancers from all corners of the globe, and aims to produce dazzling productions which are faithful to tradition.

Austrian dancer Peter Mallek founded the company in 1980 after a career as an internationally renowned performer.

The VFB performs classical ballets worldwide, with tours in countries such as Germany, Switzerland, France and Belgium. However, during the eight months it spends on tour each year, most of its performances are in the UK.

The dancers promise to take the audience on an unforgettable journey through the best of ballet in one magical evening.
