Hunts

Whistles and Walking Sticks – The Norris Museum, St Ives, February 20.

The museum’s Trading Stories display will feature crafts and trades that flourished in St Ives during the 19th century. Children can meet local craftsman Adrian Wright and watch him make wooden whistles and walking sticks. They can also decorate a wooden spinning top or egg cup to take home.

Half-Term Sports Camp – St Ives Football Club, February 17-19. Featuring sports fun for children aged between four and 12. Sports include football, dance, gymnastics and rugby as well as problem solving and much more.

Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring – The Wildlife Trust Countryside Centre, Ramsey Heights, February 19, 1.30pm-3.30pm Families can make frog and toad homes, minibeast houses, crafty hedgehogs and willow nests. They can also discover bird ringing with a special demonstration.

One Leisure Centres – Huntingdon, Ramsey, Sawtry, St Ives, St Neots. There will be a whole host of events at One Leisure centres in Huntingdonshire. Activities include swimming courses, football matches, laser tag, art sessions, and cooking lessons.

Family Drop-In Workshops – St Neots Museum, February 20-22. Children can make a medieval clay tile and a gruesome clay gargoyle.

Archaeological finds session – St Neots Museum, February 22. Families can have some fun and get involved in pot washing with archaeologist Terry Mortlock.

Tours – Wood Green, The Animals Charity.

The tours give people the chance to discover more about the work to rehome unwanted pets. 10am and 1pm on Tuesday, February 18, £5 per person.

A range of activities to tick off children’s wish lists, including den-building, kite-flying and bird feeding. On both February 16 and 22, they can learn to make kites, with den-building on February 23. They can also make bird feeders, Feb 17-21.
