Some top comedians will bring laughter, mayhem and even some rabble rousing to the area in the next few months.

Kicking off the comedy season is Jim Davidson who appears at the Burgess Hall in St Ives on February 24 with his Charlton Nil show. Davidson, the winner of 2014's Celebrity Big Brother, is a well-loved, albeit risqué, entertainer who is sure to raise eyebrows as well as laughs.

Ed Byrne - one of the UK's leading comedians - brings his Outside Looking In show to the Cambridge Corn Exchange on March 9. He reflects on everything from life as a father and husband to feminism and transgenderism. As an observational stand up, Byrne is unrivalled. Wherever he performs, be it the Edinburgh Festival, on the international circuit or a UK tour it is always to capacity audiences. Ed's television credits are far reaching. Notable appearances include Mock The Week, Have I Got News For You, The Graham Norton Show, The One Show and Live At The Apollo.

Mark Thomas - fondly referred to by the Metropolitan Police as “general rabble-rouser” and “alleged comedian”, Thomas brings his Trespass tour to the Key Theatre in Peterborough on March 9. The show follows on from where his 100 Acts of Minor Dissent left off. Combining his usual mix of theatre, stand up, activism, a dash of journalism and dollop of mayhem, Thomas asks the awkward questions.

His previous solo shows have all gone on to have sell-out runs, garnering the highest of critical acclaim, snapping up awards and nominations and earning commissions to become their very own Radio 4 series. He's won a Herald Angel award, the Amnesty International Freedom of Expression award and two Scotsman Fringe Firsts, and took his latest show Cuckooed to tour Australia and New Zealand in spring 2015, and then New York last November. Mock the Weak regular James Acaster is at the Key Theatre in Peterborough on March 13 and award-winning Rich Hall will take to the stage at the Burgess Hall on May 25.
