The St Neots Players are performing an Agatha Christie classic this weekend and there are still tickets available. A Murder is Announced, from May 21-23, features one of Christie's best-loved characters, Jane Marple, who featured in 12 of the author's crime novels and 20 short stories. The elderly spinster uses her quick wit and unassuming character to solve a series of murders in the village of Chipping Cleghorn. In this play, Miss Marple notices a bizarre advert in the local newspaper announcing the first murder. This leads to a number of twists and turns until the killer is finally revealed.

Players' regular Emmeline Lister takes on the role of Miss Marple and she is aided by Inspector Craddock, played by Don Mckay and Players' newcomer Louise Anderson takes the role of Miss Letitia Blacklock.

It is also a debut for director Chris Baker who says he has been "thrilled with the quality of acting" and promises the performance will be "the hottest ticket in town".

The set has been designed and built by Nick Shadlock. Audiences can also take the opportunity to enjoy some pre-show food, as tickets for cream teas at Poppies Tea Room in St Neots are also available.

INFORMATION: Tickets are £10/£12 for adults and £40 for a family. Cream tea tickets are £4/£8. Call the box office on: 01480 388992 or online: www.stneotsplayers.co.uk
