ON Saturday St Ives’ very own favourites Blue Haze return to one of their regular town venues, Floods Tavern, for another evening of classic rock. 9pm and Free entry.

The band have been a hugely popular ‘must see’ on the local scene since 1997, and through various line-up changes the current five-piece are stronger than ever with a huge local following (including over 200 Facebook friends). Fronted by singer/guitarist Ian Adamson with worthy backing from Andy Bird (guitars and backing vocals), Paul Maguire (keys), Paul Greaves (bass) and Henry Forster (drums and percussion), the band’s set is largely based around note-perfect renditions of Pink Floyd songs. A host of gigs are in the pipeline until the end of the year. After playing in St Ives this week, their next stop is a performance at The Fordham Fest (also known as Fordham Music Festival) in Cambridgeshire, in which they’ll appear at 9pm on Friday August 6.

Blue Haze also appear tomorrow afternoon (Thursday, 3.30pm) at a talent contest at The Man On The Moon in Cambridge

The event is organised in association with the Petersfield Area Community Trust and is called S. Petersfield Has Talent. All acts are welcome, including children and adults.

THE headliners have been announced for this year’s St Ives Music Festival on Sunday, July 4 at Warner’s Park. They are Big 10, Split Whiskers, and Charley and the Funk Factory. There will be a fun fair, barbecue and a beer tent.

INFORMATION: 1 to 9pm. Free entry.

CAMBRIDGE band 12 Clay Feet are in the grand final of The Music League Competition, a national competition that that has attracted much media and industry attention.

The four-piece indie rockers play urgent, but beautiful songs, and were originally known on the scene as Delphi. Fronted by Ian Jeffs (who also plays guitar in the band), other members include Jay Jeffs (lead guitar), Ollie Porsa on bass and Bob Radford on drums. With their debut, self-funded album currently being recorded (to be titled Totem Bells), and plans for a UK and even European tour on the cards, the hard working quartet are certainly creating a buzz. Their forthcoming performance at The Music League final is on Saturday at The Winterwell Festival in Gloucestershire, where they will be competing against three other bands. They won their place in the final by coming second in the popular online showcase, scoring an impressive 678 fan votes. For more information check out
