ASHLEY Mackenzie is one of Britain’s most promising chances of a gold at London 2012 so why are the British judo squad threatening to drop him from the team?
Ashley may have won three gold medals in 2010 alone but he also suffers with severe ADHD which has seen him get into some serious trouble many times in the past.
This is Ashley’s last chance, having been banned from the British judo squad a staggering four times for misconduct.
In a bid to secure his place at this summer’s Olympic Games, the bright, young athlete leaves his home town and his mother behind to move in with a tough, no-nonsense ex-Olympian coach who is tasked with harnessing Ashley’s undeniable talent and helping him control his ADHD.
He has six months to prove himself-will we see him compete at London 2012 or will his bad behaviour get the better of him?
