FIVE years ago Gary Barlow had truly left the building, having not done much at all since his glory days as a member of Take That came to an abrupt end.
Flash forward to 2012, one of the most important years in British history, and Barlow sits at the helm as a main player, having been roped in by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II herself to compose the official song to mark her 60 year reign.
Barlow, aided by the godfather of musical theatre, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, toured the Commonwealth to source the sounds and voices that represent what the queen means to the world.
