Lines known the world-over will be performed at the Cambridge Shakespeare Festival (CSF) this summer, with the likes of Coriolanus, Henry V and A Comedy of Errors taking to the stage.

Now in its 29th year, the CSF promises eight glittering performances, all set against the stunning backdrops of Cambridge University’s gardens.

Until July 30, audiences can enjoy a magical tour of mythical Illyria in Twelfth Night, the dreamy island in The Tempest, or the spellbinding story of Coriolanus, for just £16 a ticket.

Staple summertime offering, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, will also play before the end of the month, and youngsters are encouraged to don their best fairy outfits to add that extra bit of sparkle.

Leading the festival into August will be The Comedy of Errors and The Winter’s Tale – one a tale of hysterical mistaken identity, the other, an exploration of man’s ugliest traits: jealousy and obsession.

As You Like It and Henry V will also take to the stage until August 27, featuring Shakespeare’s most engaging heroine, Rosalind, and England’s most celebrated leader, King Henry.

All performances are £16 a ticket, or £12 for concessions, and will take place in gardens across the city including those at Trinity College, Kings College and Downing College.

Shows will begin at 7.30pm, with matinees at 2.30pm.

Each play will host its own special charity performance too, raising money for Children’s Hospice in Milton and St John’s Hospice on the Wirral.
