Stageworks performing arts college celebrated a 14th year of 100 per cent graduate success with a spectacular show in Huntingdon.

The event, featuring performances from all Stageworks students, included a routine choreographed by Philip Comley, West End dance captain for We Will Rock You worldwide, as well as numbers devised by course leader Andrew Simeon, resident director and choreographer for the current Legally Blonde UK tour.

The students, who have been studying on the Stageworks two-year foundation course specialising in musical theatre or acting will now start their next stage performing arts training at several prominent London colleges. Completing their auditions earlier this year, the 18 Stageworks students totted up more than 40 training offers from some of the UK’s toughest and most respected performing arts institutions including Laine, Bird, Italia Conti, Mountview, Urdang, London Studio Centre and Bodyworks. A number of students were also offered scholarships and fully-funded places. Eight of this year’s graduates are also home-grown talent from Huntingdonshire, with many having trained with Stageworks since a young age.

Michael Bays, principal of Stageworks College, commented: “We are extremely proud of all of our students who put on two outstanding performances at their graduation show. The show is one of the highlights of our events calendar and this year was no exception. The students have worked extremely hard this year and their talent and passion for what they do really shined through on graduation day. We are delighted with everything they have achieved and I look forward to seeing how their future careers develop.”
