It’s pantomime time again and this year it will be pure Pantomonium at the Priory Centre in St Neots.

This year’s production from the St Neots Players has been written by long-time member Kevin Wallace who explains how the idea came about.

“Having written several one-act plays and had a book published with a friend (Twelve Days Collection of Short Stories), I was looking for another challenge. I love pantomime in general, both performing in, and watching. However, I was getting jaded by variations on Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and all the other familiar stories, so I thought why not write an updated, modern, yet still traditional tale.”

The result is a computer based storyland, which is thrown into chaos when the operating system suffers a breakdown.

Why is Snow White in a gingerbread cottage? Is Red Riding Hood really sowing magic beans? Can Prince Charming honestly be so dim? Can two sisters really be that ugly? How will all the characters get back to their own stories? Welcome to Pantomonium! And – where else can you have an indoor snowball fight apart from The St Neots Players panto.

Performances are at 7.30pm on Friday with matinee performances at 11am and 3.30pm on Saturday.

Tickets £12 for adults, concessions £10 and family ticket £40. To book, go to: www.ticketsource.co.uk/stneotsplayers or call 01480 388922.
