The annual event, held in the home of the St Neots folk club - the Priory Centre - features three days of performances by some of the countries leading folk artists.

Add to that free musical workshops given by professional musicians, and the weekend promises something for music lovers young and old.

The festival kicks off on Friday night with The Hosepipe band providing the music for a ceilidh in the Great Hall. The Bridge House in St Neots will also be hosting a free song and music session for anyone who fancies getting some expert musical advice.

The market square comes alive on Saturday morning with dance displays by folk favourites Gog Magog Molly, Heartsease, Redbornstoke Morris and the Rockingham Rapper, while the day wraps up with a highly anticipated concert by folk sensations Show of Hands with Miranda Skyes, fresh from their sell-out gig at the Junction in Cambridge.

The Albert Hall-filling duo, who last year won the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Duo and Best Original Song, will be showcasing tracks from their brand new album Arrogance, Ignorance and Greed.

The festival climaxes on Sunday with a huge concert in the Great Hall featuring the biggest and best names in English folk music.
