Children from St Neots rose to the challenge over the summer holidays by reading a book a week.

The Library Summer Reading Challenge was held at libraries across Cambridgeshire, including St Neots, and more than 300 children took part.

This year’s theme was a celebration of stories, fun and imagination called Story Lab where children enjoyed an imaginative adventure involving a computer called Professor Cortex. All 250 children who completed the challenge were presented with a medal and certificate by Mayor Barry Chapman at five separate ceremonies last Wednesday (September 12).

Councillor Chapman told The Hunts Post: “The Summer Reading Challenge is a terrific initiative and the Cambridgeshire Library Service and St Neots Library in particular is the best in class.

“It’s wonderful to share in the children’s excitement when they are awarded for their achievement.”
