Talented young ballet dancers from across the region performed in Huntingdon as the Cambridgeshire Youth Ballet Company (CYBC) staged its third annual performance at the Hinchingbrooke Performing Arts Centre.

A group of 25 dancers took part in The Stories of Beatrix Potter and Friends, which was performed in front of sell-out audiences. The ballet was choreographed especially for the Cambridgeshire Youth Ballet Company by director Saskia Lockey.

Saskia said: “I’ve had an amazing journey during my first year at CYBC and watching these talented young dancers grow and develop over the past few months has been truly inspiring. We are now already looking towards next year and will be auditioning for new company members on November 26.”

CYBC is a specialist dance company which brings together talented ballet dancers aged from eight to 18 from across the region and offers them additional ballet training and the opportunity to perform in a professional production. Dancers can audition to be part of the company and training runs alongside their existing ballet lessons. Rehearsals run during term time from January to October half-term.

INFO: The auditions are being held at the Stageworks Studios in St Neots, from 10am till midday. Anyone interested in auditions needs to register and fill in an application form which is available at: www.cybcompany.co.uk or call 01480 223331.
