One of the biggest musicals of all-time is heading to Cambridge this new year, and tickets are now on sale.

From January 18 to 21, Annie will take to the stage at the Cambridge Arts Theatre, featuring an award-winning group, the Cambridge Operatic Society.

Following their NODA award-winning production of Sister Act, the society returns to the venue to tell the heart-warming story of a brave little girl during the 1930s’ Great Depression.

Living at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage in New York, Annie is forced to live a life of torment and misery.

Determined to find her real parents, Annie’s luck finally changes when she is asked to spend Christmas at a grand residence in Manhattan with none other than famous billionaire Oliver ‘Daddy’ Warbucks.

Although he would have preferred a boy orphan to stay, Mr Warbucks takes a liking to Annie and decides to help her in her search.

But Miss Hannigan has other ideas, and sets about making a plan to spoil Annie’s hopes of finding her family.

This new production promises to be one to remember for Cambridge audiences, and includes unforgettable hits such as Hard Knock Life, Easy Street, I Don’t Need Anything But You, and Tomorrow.

The amateur performance stars Maddy Cook as Annie, with Suzanne Emerson as Miss Hannigan and Steve Waring as Mr Warbucks.

And the society is no stranger to pulling off top shows, with the likes of Oklahoma!, South Pacific, and Fiddler on the Roof to its name.

Tickets are on sale now and start at £18 with a £3 booking fee included when booked online.

The performance will show at 7.30pm from Wednesday to Saturday, with another showing at 2.30pm on Saturday.

There will also be a 2.30pm showing on Thursday.
