A festival dedicated to championing the best in RnB, Americana Blues, Soul and Country has announced its second wave of acts for its next summer session.

The Red Rooster Festival, which takes place at Euston Hall in Suffolk, will return on June 1 for two days of banjo pickin’, feet-stomping hits, featuring the likes of JD McPherson and CC Smugglers.

The event has also revealed that Danny & The Champions of the World will perform, plus Danni Nicholls, King Salami & The Cumberland Three, plus DJ78 and Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys.

JD McPherson released his latest album – Let the Good Times Roll – in 2015, and his work hasn’t gone unnoticed.

With strong melodies and primal energy running through his tracks, McPherson was asked to open for Queens of the Stone Age at American singer Josh Homme’s Halloween show.

He can also boast getting into the US Rock chart’s Top 20 with his latest offering, as well as his first album reaching number one on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart in 2012.

As part of the first wave of acts, Nick Lowe was announced as one of the leading artists taking to the stage at the festival, as well as Nick Waterhouse, and Barrence Whitfield & The Savages.
