Mowgli, Baloo, and Shere Khan will leap out of the pages of Rudyard Kipling’s classic The Jungle Book for a special one-off theatre show at Grafham Water.

Chapterhouse Theatre Company, a group which tours the UK and Ireland bringing children’s favourites to life, will give one of its magical outdoor performances on Bank Holiday Monday, August 25.

The retelling of the 1894 collection from one of the most-loved English authors has been adapted by award-winning writer Laura Turner, creating an enchanting musical show.

Richard Main, producer, said: “We have barely had time to finish touring with all the marvellous creatures from The Wind in the Willows and now we embarking on a completely new adventure with bears and panthers in the wonderful stories of The Jungle Book.

“There is something so magical about nature and how we relate to it that makes seeing Baloo, Kaa and Bagheera spring to life incredibly thrilling.

“This show, my Jungle Book, is funny and touching. It is musical and in places a little bit silly but at the heart of it is the incredible stories written for a different age but which have remained absolutely timeless.”
