It’s almost time to forget about the present and remember the good old days at a show in Huntingdon.

The Music Hall Society will bring back all things traditional, with performances of songs and sketches dating from pre-1945.

The group’s annual show – coined The Good Old Days – is returning to the Commemoration Hall from Thursday, October 30, until Saturday, November 1.

The Thursday night show will be in aid of the Mayor of Huntingdon’s charities.

This year, a section of the show will also be dedicated to commemorating the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.

But music and humourous skits are not the only attraction on the agenda, as attendees can enjoy an afternoon tea, or a traditional pork pie supper in the evening. Overall, the society promises a “thoroughly entertaining evening of unashamed nostalgia” for guests.

The group was founded in 1971 and has been performing its much-loved annual show at the Commemoration Hall each year since. While focusing mainly on the period of traditional music hall, additional material has been added to the shows to cover the period of the Second World War. The society rehearses in Brampton and Broughton and performs shows throughout the year for other clubs, societies and residential care homes.

INFORMATION: A matinee performance will be staged on the Thursday, starting at 2.30pm. There will be three evening performances on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, all starting at 7.30pm. Matinee tickets cost £8 each, which includes an afternoon tea. Meanwhile, evening performances cost £12, or £10 for senior citizens and children, which includes a traditional pork pie supper.
