LOVE it or hate it the pantomime season is upon us once again (oh yes it is!), and bookings are now being taken for the highly-anticipated production of Cinderella in St Ives.

The award-winning Centre Theatre Players are performing the family favourite early next year, and The Hunts Post has two pairs of tickets to give away to see the show.

Written by professional writing team Peter Long and Keith Rawnsley, and directed by Centre Players veteran Dick Chalkley, theatre-goers can expect the usual fun and frolics of traditional panto, but with a twist.

Mr Chalkley told The Hunts Post: “This particular version contains some new and exciting plots, some lively, catchy music, plenty of audience participation and yet retains the very strong storyline we have all come to know and love.”

The show tells the story of the downtrodden Cinderella, who is treated like a slave at the hands of her wicked step-mother and two ugly sisters.

When they refuse to let her go to the ball, Cinder’s fairy godmother fixes it for her to attend, but she must return by midnight or risk turning into a pumpkin.

In her dash to leave, Cinders loses her glass slipper and sparks a search by Prince Charming to see who the shoe belongs to.

Returning to the local stage after a period of 10 years Lisa Werthman takes the role of Cinder while Prince Charming is played by actor and choreographer Vicky Lincoln.

The dancers are being provided by the Norma Terry School of Dance.

To stand a chance of winning tickets to see the show, just tell us what Cinderella’s slipper is made of.
