A music event in Huntingdon staged to raise money for Oxfam’s Syrian Refugee Appeal raised £700 for the charity.
The Oxjam event at The George Hotel in Huntingdon on October 3 featured The Rose Affair, Standing Statues, 4th Labyrinth and The Simpletone in the Manchester Room.
The gig, organised by Oxfam Books & Music, in Huntingdon High Street, included other local acts who performed from 1pm, including Daisy Bell, Dale Rhythm & Shoes, Christian Smith and James Silverside.
“We had a very strong line-up of bands and musicians who all donated their time for free,” said organiser and manager of the bookshop, Geoffrey Stalker.
“It was so successful that we are thinking of making it a regular event. It surpassed all my expectations and the bands received a fantastic reception.”
