St Neots District Woodcraft Folk has started up a new group for children and young people.

Members of the movement take part in weekly group nights, and have opportunities to go on residential and camping trips with their peers.

Young people from St Neots now have the opportunity to join a Pioneer Group for 9 - 12 year olds.

Organisers also hope to start a group for 13-15 year olds in the area.

The new group in St Neots is part of a wider project supporting Woodcraft Folk to grow in East Anglia, funded jointly by the Department for Digital Culture Media and Sport and the Big Lottery Fund.

Development officer Lauren Karstadt said: “We are excited to be working on the new groups project and bringing the opportunity to join Woodcraft Folk to even more children and young people across the region.

“Re-opening a group in St Neots has been a huge milestone and is thanks to the hard work of volunteers who have come forward to lead the group.”

INFO: Anyone interested in joining the Pioneer Group (age 9-12) can go along to Paxton Pits Nature Reserve on Thursdays, from 5.45-7.15pm, in term time.
