Legendary photographer Denis ORegan was the chosen man behind the lens for the bands last ever tour in 1986 and is visiting Cambridgeshire as part the UKs biggest ever exhibition tour to feature the original band. Hundreds of fans will head to Cambridgeshire for a one-night-only event as the exhibition called Queen: Princes Of The Universe hits the road. The Cambourne date is one of 14 nationwide and is at the Elms BMW showroom, in Sheepfold Lane. The showroom will be transformed into a stunning art gallery to play host to the third event of the tour series. The exhibition then continues making its way across the UK, closing on November 24 in Milton Keynes. Organised by rock photography exhibition specialists Off Beat Lounge, the companys close relationship with Denis ORegan, one of the worlds most revered rock music photographers, has resulted in the curation of more than 60 images (1975 to 1986), and more than half have never been published. Off Beat Lounge has also announced that the tour will be supporting The Mercury Phoenix Trust, the AIDS charity set up in memory of Freddie Mercury. These one-night-only events, with Denis ORegan in attendance, for VIP ticket holders only, for a question and answer session, will take visitors on an absorbing journey around the world, from the mid-1970s to the bands last ever tour with the original line-up in 1986, which included historic performances at Wembley Stadium and Knebworth. Featuring stunning live performance photography, intimate off-stage moments and a glimpse of the bands outrageous down-time, this tour is every bit the spectacle, and follows hot on the heels of the sell-out UK tour of David Bowie photography David & I by Denis ORegan that continues to gain national acclaim since its launch in 2016. Off Beat Lounge founder, Mark Overton thinks attendees are in for an emotional experience; Some bands provide more than music, they document a period of time for an entire generation, and Queen were such a band. Although Ive worked with Denis for a number of years now, Im still in awe of his talent, and this carefully selected body of work illustrates that talent in an amazing way. Produced to museum standards, all photographs are available to purchase, with VIP ticket holders able to reserve prints in advance for collection on the night. Im delighted to be able to tour this collection of photographs with Off Beat Lounge. Selecting the shots has been an evocative experience. It was a special time for me, and Im reminded of the trust that Freddie, Brian, Roger and John placed in me, said Denis ORegan. All these years later, they remain one of the most famous and charismatic bands in history. All events will run from 7:30pm till 9pm for standard admission tickets, with VIP ticket holders gaining access from 6.30pm for a the question and answer session with Denis ORegan and a private viewing.
