Jenkins - Britains best-selling classical artist of the last 25 years - has announced the release of her latest album Guiding Light, which is out in November, and a new tour for 2019. The album includes new tracks featuring some of Jenkins personal favourites new and old; alongside original material including Xanders Song, written for her son who was born earlier this year. Cherished as one of Britains all-time favourite singers, she was officially crowned number one top-selling classical music artist of the last 25 years by Classic FM. She also made chart history when her last album Celebration became her twelfth UK classical number one album in 12 years. These record-breaking achievements cemented her position as the worlds most prolific artist in UK classical chart history. The multi-award winning artist has performed all over the world, for the Pope, for presidents and is a favourite of the royal family, having been invited to sing God Save The Queen at Her Majestys Diamond Jubilee and more recently at the Queens 90th birthday celebrations at Windsor Castle. She has embarked upon numerous sold out tours and duetted with such names as Placido Domingo, Andrea Bocelli, José Carreras, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Bryn Terfel, Rolando Villazon, and Il Divo, amongst others. She was awarded an OBE in the 2014 New Years Honours List for her services to music and charity. Last year, she wowed audiences and critics alike with her stellar performance as Julie Jordan in Lonny Prices semi-staged production of Carousel at the London Coliseum. Jenkins will perform at the Cambridge Corn Exchange on May 15, 2019 and tickets, which start at £32.50, are available from the box office on: 01223 357851 or www.cambridgelivetrust.co.uk.
