HUNTINGDON Male Voice Choir will be taking to the water to perform a concert with a difference.

The concert will take place during the St Ives Boat Festival to be held over the August bank holiday weekend.

Members of the choir will take to the water on Saturday, August 28 as part of a flotilla of illuminated boats. They will perform a wide selection of music including Row, Row, Row Your Boat, under the direction of musical director, Peter Davies.

Meeting at St Ives Bridge Quayside at 7.45pm the choir will perform for 20 minutes at the location before sailing and singing upstream and returning to Quayside at 8.30pm. They will then leave at 8.50pm as part of the illuminated flotilla sailing to The Staunch, Nobles Field and Jones Marina.

Mr Davies said: “Singing in the open air is a challenge at any time, singing while afloat a small craft, and in the vagaries of the English bank holiday weather could be very special.

“Everyone is really looking forward to a great evening of entertainment.”

HMVC is a 60-strong choir and in October they will be appearing as part of the London Welsh Male Voice Festival at the Royal Albert Hall.
