The books, which are all first editions, but ninth and twelfth publication impressions, are thought to be worth between £300-£400 and were found at the towns Oxfam Bookshop in Huntingdon. Manager Geoffrey Stalker said although there is some damage to the dust jackets of the books he was hopeful they would raise several hundred pounds on e-bay. This is the third set of Lord of the Rings books we have found here at the shop and we think they should do well. I have worked here for five years now, and to be honest I could spot these books a mile off as they have the iconic dust jackets. It is always exciting when we find something special and I hope they will do well. The books were published in 1962 and cost 21 shillings to buy. Anyone wishing to bid on the books should go to the e-bay website. The auction will close on November 9. Pictured is Oxfam volunteer Christina Day with the books.
