A TASTE of Europe in the heart of Huntingdon will be on offer next week when the town hosts its ninth continental market.

The hugely popular event is being held in the Market Square from Thursday, September 30 to Saturday, October 2 from 9am to 5.30pm.

It has been organised by the Huntingdon Town Partnership.

Each year the market showcases a range of produce from across Europe and attracts shoppers from across the region.

This year it will again feature the best of continental produce with more than 25 stalls selling items from France, Spain, Holland, Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The market is a great opportunity for people to relive holidays on the continent, tasting sun-ripened olives, cheeses from France and spicy sausage from Germany. In addition to food, there will also be an array of gifts to buy including jewellery, leatherwear, cookware and clothing.

Huntingdon town mayor, Councillor Chris Doyle will officially open the market at 10am on Thursday, September 30.

Katy Sismore, Huntingdon Town Partnership manager said: “Last year more than 10,000 people visited Huntingdon over the three-day market. Huntingdon is one of the most popular continental markets in the country. The event offers visitors a real taste of Europe in the heart of Huntingdon.”
