Five strapping lads, all identifying as fat and gay, present a dance show at Cambridge Junction “about flab, double chins and getting your kit off in public.”
They aim to uncover (as it were) why fat men are never portrayed as sexy but always as funny. Always the before shot, never the after.
Made in collaboration with renowned choreographer Lea Anderson MBE, one of the plus-sized male performers, Scottee, says: “It’s a riotous show about bad fatties, like me. A call to arms for those of us who don’t intend to diet despite television doctors telling us our fat bodies are embarrassing. Fat Blokes is a fat rebellion to everything you hold so dear.”
Lea Anderson said: “It is fascinating to work with men who have such exquisite silhouettes and diverse performance experiences, I hope to have a chance to make something beautiful.”
7.30pm. £12.50/£8 from 01223 511511 or junction.co.uk
