Raising funds for the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity and Romsey Mill, the event will give visitors the chance to explore colleges like Emmanuel, Kings, Clare, Selwyn, Peterhouse, Downing and Pembroke, as well as the University Library. Thanks to its efforts, Bridge the Gap has so far raised more than £500,000 for local causes, with £47,000 collected just last year alone. Ellen Thornton, events assistant at the University of Cambridge said: The walk is a fantastic opportunity for company employees, their families and friends to all get together and have an amazing day out while doing something for charity. Its also a great way to get to know the local area if staff are new to Cambridge. Sponsored by The Cambridge Building Society, the event will start and finish at Parkers Piece, complete with a cake tent and music from the Waterbeach Brass Band. The walk is wheelchair and pushchair friendly, and will head out in three waves 9.30am, 10am and 10.30am. Places cost £18 for booking closing on September 9, or £20 on the day. To register, fill in an entry form at any branch of The Cambridge Building Society, or go online at www.arhc.org.uk/bridgethegap.
