TWENTY-foot tall Courvoisier punch fountains and live music over 14 stages are just a few of the fantastic attractions on offer at Huntingdonshire’s very own summer music festival.

The Secret Garden Party is taking place from July 22 to 25 at Abbots Ripton in the grounds of the home of Lord De Ramsey.

Headlinders are Marina and the Diamonds, the Gorillaz Sound System and Mercury Rev.

Other acts performing include Eliza Doolittle, Example, I Am Arrows, The Jessie Rose Trip, The Whip, Rapid, Caravan Palace, Eskimo Twins and Hungry Man.

The festival is known for bringing up and coming artists into the limelight. It is where Florence and The Machine played an intimate gig to just 300 people.

In 2008 the event won a Best Small Festival award and this year it promises to be even more quirky and unusual.

This year’s festival will be divided into four different Fact or Fiction themes: Dreams, Invention and Discovery, The Twilight and The Future.

A spokesman for the festival said: “We ask you to explore the 2010 theme in the wildest way you can: costume, gifting, stunts, rituals, howls, celebrations, decorations and ill-considerations. Just ensure it is stranger than fiction.”

Organisers have said the gates will open in July to reveal a temporary city like no other on party on earth.

Festival-goers (or gardeners as there are known for this event) will be able to row out to the middle of the lake to the floating dance floor and take a look around. Turning through 360 degrees you will see The Gorrilaz’s on the Great Stage and mud-caked wrestlers in the Suicide Sports Amphitheatre.

There will also be 20ft-tall fountains producing delicious Courvoisier punch by the cocktail bar and acoustic sessions in the Livingroom stage.

New for this year is the Crossroads stage showcasing the best in soul, blues and funk and the Never-Ever Land circus tent featuring energetic performances from Tax Deductible’s.

Other highlights include poetry and discussions in the One Taste arena, science experiments and conspiracy theories in the woodland.

There will also be fairground rides, children’s games, saunas and massage by the lake and action camps around every corner featuring dance-offs, snail racing and a kissing den.

The four-day festival will also include boutique camping with butlers, private showers, posh toilets and indoor sitting rooms.

Anyone wanting to attend is advised to hurry up and book as tickets are selling fast.

INFORMATION: Entry is 149.50 (which includes the booking fee). To view the full festival line-up, opening times and to book tickets, visit www.secretgardenparty.com/2010
