The Cambridge Comedy Festival returns to the city next month and you can see some of the biggest names in comedy and also catch a glimpse of some exciting new talent.

The event is a sounding board for many of the acts who perform warm-up preview shows before they head off to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August. The festival takes place at the Cambridge Junction, from July 14-19, and over the six days there will be 26 shows which includes some great shows for all the family to enjoy.

All the acts are appearing at the Cambridge Junction at the venue's J2 and J3. Tickets are £11 or £18 for two shows on the same night. Tickets available from the box office on 01223 511511 or online www.junction.co.uk.

Paul Chowdhry has distinguished himself as one of the most talented and popular comedians to have emerged in recent years. Inspired by comedians such as the late Richard Prior, George Carlin and Sam Kinison, he brings a highly-charged dry observational humour which taps into the multicultural diversity of contemporary Britain. His show in on July 15 at J2 at 9pm.

Ed Byrne's observational stand-up routine is unrivalled. Wherever he performs, be it the Edinburgh Festival, on the international circuit or a UK tour it is always to capacity audiences. Catch a one-hour potted version of his new show at J2 on July 19 before it goes on tour. Recent television credits, include Dara & Ed's Great Big Adventure, Mock The Week, Have I Got News For You, The Graham Norton Show and Live At The Apollo. Show starts at 9pm.

Dane Baptiste brings his Reasonable Doubts show to J3 on July 19. His new show is about doubt. Expect fresh perspectives from this original and provocative rising star. Starts 7.30pm.

The Comedy Club 4 Kids features some of the best young comedians on the circuit. Ideal for families and anyone age between 8-11 year olds. The show is at J2 on July 18 at 4pm. Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for children.
