Renowned historian and BBC presenter Dr Lucy Worsley returns to the Arts Theatre in Cambridge to investigate the public’s fascination with murder. In a one-night show, An Evening of Murder, she will look at notorious crimes and criminals, and discus the phenomenon of murder as a form of middle-class entertainment.
Starting with a horrific early nineteenth century serial-killer in the East End of London, Dr Worsley will end with the tame drawing room dramas of Agatha Christie. As she takes us on an illustrated tour through the dark story of murder, she discusses how it became a British obsession through novels, plays, paintings and the media.
INFO: An Evening of Murder with Lucy Worsley is on February 21 and tickets are priced from £15-£25.50 and available from the box office on 01223 503333. Starts at 7.45pm. www.cambridgeartstheatre.com.
