Buckfest Music Festival organisers have announced that this year’s event will take place on July 15 at Buckden Village Club.
Now in its eighth year, the one-day festival was recently voted Cambridgeshire’s best festival of 2016 from an online poll of more than 105 Cambridgeshire festivals, run by local Gigs Out promoter, Mike Wilson.
Rick Holden, chairman of the Buckfest committee, said the group were “completely blown-away with the outcome of the vote” and he puts the success down to the dedication, support and commitment of everyone involved.
Buckfest is now looking for its charity partner for 2017, nominations are being sought from local charities who would like to be considered. Charities should be located within Cambridgeshire, or close to the Cambridgeshire border - the organisers are particularly keen to hear from organisations where the donation would have a strong impact on their day-to-day work. As well as receiving a financial donation, the charity will be able to raise awareness of its work at the event with around 2000 festival goers.
Over the past seven years, Buckfest has donated more than £13,000 to local good causes. In 2016 the festival had two charity partners: Elouise Keeling Asthma Trust and Little Miracles, who each received a donation of £1,000 each. The festival will have one charity partner in 2017.
If you would like to nominate a local charity/good cause, sponsor the event or volunteer, get in touch by emailing: info@buckfest.org.
Tickets for the festival will go on-sale later in the spring.
