Cambridge is set to get a taste of country rock later this month as American band The Cadillac Three will bring their unique style to the city.

Since forming in 2011 the trio have launched a movement in country music in a way not seen since Garth Brooks bought pop and rock and roll elements into the genre.

With much of their early songs being influenced by the sounds of Brooks, Nirvana and Rage Against the Machine and country artists such Chris Stapleton and Kacey Musgraves, the band’s latest album Bury Me in My Boots has been given a personal touch.

Neil Mason, drummer, told The Hunts Post: “When we made our first record we were just figuring out our sound, hadn’t toured the US yet and hadn’t even had an idea that we would be embraced overseas. I think because of that our sound has grown and been influenced by new and classic music we’ve heard - I think we’ve grown a lot as storytellers in our lyrics.

“The songs really just need to be something that the 3 of us feel like we can play live forever because we play so many shows that we need to know that they will stand up for a long time.”

To write the album the band to a step in another direction by putting pen to paper and creating the entire set list on the road.

“Writing on the road wasn’t something we had ever done until we started writing Bury Me In My Boots, but I think what is cool about it is you are waking up from experiences the night before that you wouldn’t necessarily have if we were just writing a song after waking up in our own houses in Nashville and sitting down to write one,” added Neil.

“I think you get more genuine life experiences when you write things right after they’ve happened which is a lot of what this new album is.”

Tickets are on sale for the gig on November 7 at The Cambridge Junction, and will be accompanied by rock band Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown.

“We are excited about coming to Cambridge because it’s a place we’ve never been.

“We can’t believe so many people have picked up tickets to the show without us ever playing there before. It’s going to be a great night.”
