Four Seasons by Candlelight is a programme of 18th-century classics, offering listeners the chance to be taken back in time to enjoy an evocative nights entertainment with performers in full period costume. Performed by the Mozart Festival Orchestra, the evening is rounded off with Antonio Vivaldis popular The Four Seasons. The imaginative staging of the pieces allows classical aficionados and newcomers alike to appreciate how the music would have been performed the very first time. The production comes to the Cambridge Corn Exchange on Friday, November 26. As well as Antonio Vivaldis The Four Seasons, among the favourites being performed on a memorable evening will be Handels Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, Albinonis Adagio and Pachelbels Canon in D. Others include Bachs Concerto for Two Violins in D minor, Clarkes Trumpet Suite and Stanleys Trumpet Voluntary.
