Author Mark Egerton will talk about his new book A Haunted History of Huntingdonshire at Huntingdon Town Hall on November 1.

The event, organised by the Cromwell Museum, in Huntingdon, is called Warts, Ghosts and Everything and starts at 7pm.

The museum and town hall feature in the book and tickets for the talk, which will include a book signing, are free and available from the museum.

Mr Egerton, who is from St Neots, held paranormal investigations at both venues and has published the results of what he discovered.

He launched the book in Huntingdon on October 5 and has given a talk at the St Neots Museum. He also held an auction for the first copy of the book and £50 was donated to The 3 Pillars Trust, which supports people who are homelsess in Huntingdonshire.

“The book focuses on Huntingdon’s ghosts, myths and legends, but it also contains a lot of quirky local Huntingdonshire history too,” said Mark.

“In some instances I was able to spend the night inside some of the haunted properties featured, such as the Cromwell Museum, and a full account of what we experienced is also documented inside the book.”

The book provides a comprehensive collection of Huntingdonshire ghost stories and Mark says he has given an honest and balanced account of what happened when he visited the various venues.

“It gives a fascinating insight into the world of paranormal investigations. The reader will soon discover that investigation results can vary enormously, from absolutely nothing at all, right through to the quite extraordinary,” he explained.

The book features more than 50 haunted Huntingdonshire locations, and it contains more than 300 unique images and illustrations.
