GIG OF THE WEEK: ANNIE DRESSNER @ RHYTHM AT THE RIVER, ST IVES
The beautiful, 400 year-old River Tea Rooms in St Ives is once again the location for another fantastic evening of Rhythm At The River. The established event, now on it’s second year (many of which sold out last year) is fast becoming one of the most popular live music events in the region thanks to it’s intimate setting, good food and excellent choice of performers. Headlining the second show of 2013 is Annie Dressner, a singer-songwriter who is no stranger to this column thanks to her extensive gigging schedule and impending new EP release. Born and raised in New York, Dressner recently moved to Cambridge and her poignant live shows have rightly established the guitarist as an exquisite talent. She will be joined by her husband, singer-songwriter Paul Goodwin, who will be accompanying her on keyboards. Support comes from Will Mak, a soulful songwriter performing self-penned, heartfelt material. Rhythm At The River featuring Annie Dressner and Will Mak takes place this Friday at The River Tea Rooms, St Ives – tickets are £17, admission includes supper and there is a licensed bar. Tickets are available from the venue itself, or from www.wegottickets.com
