Talented young ballet dancers from across the region performed in Huntingdon as the Cambridgeshire Youth Ballet Company staged its fifth annual performance at the Hinchingbrooke Performing Arts Centre.

A group of 36 dancers took part in the production of The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland which was performed in front of sell-out audiences. The ballet was choreographed especially for the Cambridgeshire Youth Ballet Company (CYBC) by director Saskia Lockey.

Saskia said: “I’ve had an amazing journey during my second year at CYBC and watching these talented young dancers grow and develop over the past few months has been truly inspiring. We are now already looking towards next year’s show of The Nutcracker and the Magic Kingdoms. We will be auditioning for new company members on Sunday, December 9.”

CYBC is a specialist dance company which brings together talented ballet dancers aged from eight to 18 from across the region and offers them additional ballet training and the opportunity to perform in a professional production. Any young dancers can audition to be part of the company and training runs alongside their existing ballet lessons. Rehearsals run during term time from January to October half-term.
