Jason Mraz’s new album is a sure-fire hit, but is likley to divide fans of his previous smash, We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things.

Love Is a Four Letter Word
HAVING spent 22 months touring his record-breaking album, We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things, (a tour which inspired new song 93 Million Miles) eco-warrior musician, Jason Mraz returns with his fourth studio album which is about, in his own words: “What one does in love to make it work, and what one does in love when it’s time to let go.”
The powerhouse that was We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things, felt more personal, with every track quite obviously telling a story, but fans may enjoy the comparative subtlety in the lyrics of Love Is a Four Letter Word, which seem to tackle ‘big’ ideas rather than specific events and relationships.
The arrangements are ‘bigger’ too, with a clan of session musicians providing layers of sound with everything from trumpets to Sanskrit chanting.
Again, I preferred the mellow, stripped-back feel of Mraz’s previous album, with its simple guitars and cute, reggae-inspired melodies.
